Electrical condition monitoring excellence at your fingertips

We supply state-of-the-art electrical testing and monitoring instruments through collaborations with our Global Partners and support them through training, local calibration and repairs.

Electrical Signature Analysis

Electrical Signature Analysis (also known as ESA or MCSA) is the standard technology for online detection of broken rotor bars, air-gap eccentricity, interturn shorts and mechanical defects in motors by analyzing the current and voltage spectrum. ESA analyzers also have the capabilities to perform harmonic analysis, estimate motor efficiency and detect load related defects. We offer handheld, portable and continuous monitoring instruments for this application.

The AT-POL IIITM is an 8-channel handheld Electrical Signature Analyzer that also includes full power analyzer capability. Thanks to its small size, integrated screen and keypad, no computer is required for control, making it very convenient for field use. The CAT IV rating, CE certification and Bluetooth operation make it the safest instrument available for energized testing, while the rugged design allows for a standard 2-year warranty.

The EMPATH CMSTM is the continuous monitoring version of the portable EMPATH analyzer. It can monitor up to 32 motors with a single unit, and up to 3,200 motors can be multiplexed with a single server. Data is acquired from E-Plug modules permanently installed in Motor Control Centres (MCCs), without the need for an operator. ECMSTM automatically pulses the motors at user-defined intervals, collects and analyzes the data, and then stores it in various locations including cloud servers. In cases where the results are out of tolerance, ECMS sends various flags including SMS, emails and on-screen notifications.

Motor Circuit Analysis

Motor Circuit Analysis (MCATM), also known as Motor Circuit Evaluation (MCE), is a deenergized test method for evaluating the health of a motor. Initiated from the Motor Control Center (MCC) or directly at the motor itself, this procedure evaluates the entire electrical portion of the motor system, including the connections and cables between the test point and motor. MCA is capable of detecting ground faults, internal winding faults, open connections, rotor faults and contamination.

Partial Discharge Analysis and Monitors

Partial Discharge is the industry standard for assessing the insulation condition of all high voltage equipment. We offer a variety of PD test equipment ranging from basic testers to analyzers as well as continuous monitors. These can test cables, motors, generators, switchgear and transformers and detect incipient defects.

Line Impedance Resonance Analyzer (LIRA®)

LIRA is a patented technology from Wirescan, Norway for diagnosing degradation and finding  fault locations in all cables, from LV to EHV. This is done by injecting low voltage; and high frequency signals into the cable and performing frequency domain reflectometry. LIRA can be performed both offline and online (permanently installed system).

Generator Rotor Shorted Turn Analyzer

Shorted turns in generator rotor windings can contribute to vibration problems due to rotor thermal bending from the uneven heating associated with non-symmetrical dc current flow and watt losses in faulted windings. Shorted turns can also cause unbalanced magnetic flux in the air gap that  aggravates vibration problems. Such defects can be easily detected by the Sumatron RSO Analyzer.
