Cable Testing Services
DIATECH is your trusted partner for cable testing and evaluation. Our cutting-edge online and offline testing and monitoring solutions adhere to international standards and consistently deliver accurate and reliable results. We perform a range of tests to identify incipient cable defects before they cause failures and plant outages, ensuring the uptime, safety and efficiency of your plant.
Our testing methods leverage the following key technologies:
- VLF Tan Delta: Low frequency (0.1 Hz), high voltage signals are applied to the cable to measure its loss factor, detecting the presence of water trees and physical damage.
- VLF Partial Discharge: Low frequency (0.1 Hz), high voltage signals are applied to the cable to measure its PD activity, identifying voids and electrical trees, and pinpointing their locations.
- DAC Partial Discharge: Oscillating frequency (20 Hz to 500 Hz), high voltage signals are applied to the cable to measure its PD activity, enabling the detection of voids and electrical trees and determining their locations.
- LIRA: High frequency (100 kHz to 100 MHz), low voltage signals are applied to the cable to map its impedance fluctuations, identifying the locations of water trees and physical damage.
- On-Line Partial Discharge: HFCT, TEV & UHF sensors are used to detect PD activity within the cable while in operational condition.
- Ampacity: The cable’s actual current-carrying capability is calculated, based on site conditions.
CableCARE®
Cable Condition and Reliability Evaluation Program
CableCARE® is a comprehensive diagnostic procedure merging our knowledge from testing 8,000+ cables of up to 400 kV with all relevant IEC, IEEE and CIGRE standards.
Why choose CableCARE®
CableCARE® can assess LV, MV, HV and EHV cables and predict practically any incipient fault well in advance. It offers USPs like
Safe operational period for a cable is specified
Incipient defects are identified, along with an assessment of their severity
The exact location of the defect can be identified
Corrective actions are recommended
All tests and results are non-destructive and in accordance with relevant IEC, IEEE & ANSI standards
When combined with history and operational data, the residual life can be estimated
